Purple sea urchins breath through their tubed feet. They also breathed through 5 pairs of gills which are located externally. These gills are located around the mouth (which is at the bottom of the body). When the Purple Sea Urchin in low on oxygen, fluids are pumped into the gills internally using special muscles which allow it to receive the oxygen it needs.
